Reflecting on Oribi's Visit: University of Cape Town's Hasso Plattner D School Learning in Practice Tours

On Tuesday, March 26, 2024, the Oribi team received an invitation to participate in the University of Cape Town's Learning in Practice Tours. This event was a fantastic opportunity for us to connect and inspire the next generation of design-thinking practitioners and aspiring entrepreneurs

Our team had the privilege of speaking to the new Foundations cohort for 2024, introducing them to Oribi's mission and vision. We discussed how social entrepreneurship incubators like ours support design-thinking practitioners in transforming their ideas into impactful businesses. Sharing insights into our programmes and the incubator ecosystem in Cape Town, we aimed to inspire their participants and provide a glimpse into the journey of incubated businesses.

The Learning in Practice Tours align perfectly with Oribi's values of learning and networking. We believe in the power of real-world exposure and practical experiences to shape aspiring entrepreneurs. These tours not only showcase different possibilities and directions for design thinking practitioners but also facilitate valuable networking opportunities crucial for developing their practice and bringing their ideas to life.

Our interaction with the participants was enriching, and we are excited about the potential collaborations and innovations that may emerge from this engagement. We look forward to continuing our partnership with the University of Cape Town and supporting future cohorts in their entrepreneurial journeys.

Stay tuned for more updates and insights from Oribi as we continue to empower social entrepreneurs and change-makers in the South African ecosystem and beyond.
