Congratulations to the Matric Class of 2024!

We celebrate your hard work, dedication, and resilience. Achieving an impressive 87.3% pass rate nationally and an 86.6% pass rate in the Western Cape is no small feat, and your success is an inspiration to us all. An even bigger congratulations to our #GirlsInBusiness incubatees who completed matric. These girls put in so much work, and they reaped the rewards. We wish you well in your academic endeavors and look forward to seeing you grow.
The release of matric results each year highlights the importance of investing in youth development to build a more sustainable and equitable future.
Why do we at Oribi value youth development?
The high youth unemployment rates in South Africa make it crucial now more than ever to provide youth with the appropriate skills to adjust to the evolving job market. We must generate opportunities that motivate young people to become entrepreneurs and leaders capable of establishing businesses, generating jobs, and nurturing economic expansion. By focusing on access to high-quality education and alternative career options such as social entrepreneurship we equip the upcoming generation to thrive in all sectors.

To all students matriculating, your path does not end here. Regardless of whether you're seeking a degree, starting a career, or launching your own business, understand that we as Oribi have faith in your capabilities.
Oribi’s Commitment to Youth and Women Empowerment:
#GirlsinBusiness: One of our flagship programs continues to inspire and equip young girls in high school with the tools to become social entrepreneurs. Over the past year, we’ve mentored 40+ girls, and many are working towards launching impactful ventures addressing pressing community challenges.

#FoodSystems: Our flagship Food Systems Programme brings together stakeholders, women, and young entrepreneurs to explore innovative solutions for creating sustainable and equitable food systems. The program focuses on mentorship, capacity-building, and fostering collaboration within the ecosystem.
#AfriFOODlinks: Through this initiative, we support food entrepreneurs and innovators in Cape Town committed to rethinking and regenerating the food system. We aim to tackle food security, sustainability, and justice, fostering a more circular and inclusive food economy.
#BridgingtheGenderGaps: Recently launched, this initiative focuses on providing grant funding to women from underserved communities to kickstart their business ventures. By addressing economic inequality, we’re creating opportunities for women to thrive as entrepreneurs and leaders.
#CSOTraining: We have collaborated with youth-focused organisations and institutions like the New Heritage Foundation, Black Girls Rising, and NorthLink College to integrate social entrepreneurship into their missions. These training sessions have been pivotal in empowering civil society organizations to scale their impact sustainably.

As we celebrate the Matric Class of 2024, we are reminded that the journey of learning and growth never truly ends. At Oribi, we remain committed to enabling youth to step into their full potential as changemakers, entrepreneurs, and leaders. Through our various initiatives, we continue to bridge gaps, foster innovation, and create opportunities for a more inclusive and sustainable future. To all matriculants, this is just the beginning. Whether you choose to pursue higher education, enter the workforce, or start your own social venture, know that you have the power to shape your own path. We believe in you, and we look forward to seeing the impact you will make in your communities and beyond.
